What are the most common mistakes that are fixed in proofreading?

The most common errors usually found during a final proofread are spelling mistakes, misused homophones, inconsistent punctuation, missing words, missing commas, tense shifts, inconsistent typeface, and awkwardly spaced lines within the text.

Praise from Clients

“Jamie reads through manuscripts with a fine-tooth comb. She has an eye for finding errors that would normally slip through the cracks, while also polishing sentence structure and flow. I cannot recommend her enough!”

- Caitlin Moss, Author of You First and To The Grave

“Jamie’s fastidious editing has caught errors for me after multiple other editors have missed them. She is thoughtful, thorough, and so detail-oriented that any errors in a manuscript must be quaking in their little comma-spliced boots when they see her coming. Jamie’s an essential tool in the writer’s arsenal and the investment in her top-tier services will yield rewards in quality, satisfaction, and a pristine end product.”

- Claire Cain, Author of As You Are: A Sweet Military Romance and Almost True: A Sweet Small Town Romance
